حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الأَذَانِ أَشْيَاءَ لَمْ يَصْنَعْ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا قَالَ فَأُرِيَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ الأَذَانَ فِي الْمَنَامِ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ " أَلْقِهِ عَلَى بِلاَلٍ " . فَأَلْقَاهُ عَلَيْهِ فَأَذَّنَ بِلاَلٌ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَنَا رَأَيْتُهُ وَأَنَا كُنْتُ أُرِيدُهُ قَالَ " فَأَقِمْ أَنْتَ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Zayd (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates: 'The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) intended various things for the call to prayer but did not do any of them. Then Abdullah ibn Zayd was shown the Adhan in a dream. He came to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and informed him. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Teach it to Hadrat Bilal." So he taught him, and Hadrat Bilal (may Allah be well pleased with him) called the Adhan. Hadrat Abdullah said: "I was the one who saw the dream, and I wanted (to call the Adhan)." He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Then you call the Iqamah."'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اذان کے لیے (مختلف) چیزوں کا ارادہ فرمایا مگر ان میں سے کچھ نہ کیا۔ پھر حضرت عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو خواب میں اذان دکھائی گئی۔ وہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمتِ اقدس میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: حضرت بلال کو سکھا دو۔ چنانچہ انہوں نے سکھایا اور حضرت بلال رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے اذان دی۔ حضرت عبداللہ نے عرض کیا: خواب تو میں نے دیکھا تھا اور (اذان دینا) میں چاہتا تھا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تو تم اقامت کہو۔
