حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَنْبَسَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَسْتَنُّ وَعِنْدَهُ رَجُلاَنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَكْبَرُ مِنَ الآخَرِ فَأُوحِيَ إِلَيْهِ فِي فَضْلِ السِّوَاكِ " أَنْ كَبِّرْ " . أَعْطِ السِّوَاكَ أَكْبَرَهُمَا . قَالَ أَحْمَدُ - هُوَ ابْنُ حَزْمٍ - قَالَ لَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ هُوَ ابْنُ الأَعْرَابِيِّ هَذَا مِمَّا تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ .
English Translation
Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrates that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was using the tooth-stick (miswak) while two men were present with him, one of whom was older than the other. A revelation came to him (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) concerning the merit of the tooth-stick, commanding: 'Show respect to the elder' — meaning, give the tooth-stick to the elder of the two.
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مسواک فرما رہے تھے اور آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس دو آدمی بیٹھے تھے، ان میں سے ایک دوسرے سے عمر میں بڑا تھا۔ اتنے میں آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم پر مسواک کی فضیلت کے بارے میں وحی نازل ہوئی اور حکم ہوا کہ «كَبِّرْ» (بڑے کا لحاظ رکھو) یعنی مسواک دونوں میں سے بڑے کو عنایت فرمایئے۔
