Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، وَشُعْبَةُ، وَأَبَانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " التَّفْلُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ خَطِيئَةٌ وَكَفَّارَتُهُ أَنْ تُوَارِيَهُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is to bury it (in the ground).'
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس بن مالک رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: مسجد میں تھوکنا گناہ ہے اور اس کا کفارہ یہ ہے کہ اسے (مٹی میں) چھپا دیا جائے۔
