حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ كُنَّا نَقُولُ فِي زَمَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لاَ نَعْدِلُ بِأَبِي بَكْرٍ أَحَدًا ثُمَّ عُمَرَ ثُمَّ عُثْمَانَ ثُمَّ نَتْرُكُ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لاَ تَفَاضُلَ بَيْنَهُمْ .
English Translation
Hadrat 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates: In the time of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) we used to say: No one compares to Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him), then Hadrat 'Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be well pleased with him), then Hadrat ' Uthman Ghani (may Allah be well pleased with him) — then we would leave the rest of the Companions of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) without giving precedence to any one of them over another.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: ہم حضور نبیِ اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے زمانے میں کہا کرتے تھے کہ حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے برابر ہم کسی کو نہیں سمجھتے، پھر حضرت عمر فاروق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ، پھر حضرت عثمان غنی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ — پھر حضور نبیِ اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہم اجمعین کو چھوڑ دیتے اور ان میں کسی کو کسی پر فضیلت نہیں دیتے۔
