Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّ أَعْظَمَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ فَحُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ " .
English Translation
It is narrated by Hadrat Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: The greatest offender among the Muslims against the Muslims is he who inquires about something that was not prohibited, and it is then prohibited because of his inquiry.
Urdu Translation
حضرت سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: مسلمانوں کے حق میں سب سے بڑا مجرم وہ مسلمان ہے جو ایسی چیز کے بارے میں سوال کرے جو حرام نہیں تھی لیکن اس کے سوال کی وجہ سے لوگوں پر حرام کر دی گئی۔
