حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، وَيُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنِ الأَحْنَفِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ خَرَجْتُ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ، - يَعْنِي فِي الْقِتَالِ - فَلَقِيَنِي أَبُو بَكْرَةَ فَقَالَ ارْجِعْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " إِذَا تَوَاجَهَ الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا فَالْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ فِي النَّارِ " . قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا الْقَاتِلُ فَمَا بَالُ الْمَقْتُولِ قَالَ " إِنَّهُ أَرَادَ قَتْلَ صَاحِبِهِ " .
English Translation
Al-Ahnaf ibn Qays (upon him be mercy) narrates: I set out with the intention of fighting. Hadrat Abu Bakrah (may Allah be well pleased with him) met me and said: Go back! For I heard the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: When two Muslims face each other with their swords, both the killer and the slain will be in the Fire. It was submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), the killer (is understandable), but what about the slain? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: He too intended to kill his companion.
Urdu Translation
احنف بن قیس رحمۃ اللہ علیہ فرماتے ہیں: میں لڑائی میں شرکت کے ارادے سے نکلا تو (راستے میں) حضرت ابوبکرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ مل گئے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: واپس لوٹ جاؤ! کیونکہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا ہے: جب دو مسلمان اپنی تلواریں لے کر ایک دوسرے کے سامنے آئیں تو قاتل اور مقتول دونوں جہنم میں ہوں گے۔ عرض کیا گیا: اللہ کے رسول! قاتل (تو سمجھ میں آتا ہے) مگر مقتول کا کیا قصور؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: وہ بھی اپنے ساتھی کو قتل کرنا چاہتا تھا۔
