حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَنْبَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ نَاجِيَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " تَدُورُ رَحَى الإِسْلاَمِ لِخَمْسٍ وَثَلاَثِينَ أَوْ سِتٍّ وَثَلاَثِينَ أَوْ سَبْعٍ وَثَلاَثِينَ فَإِنْ يَهْلِكُوا فَسَبِيلُ مَنْ هَلَكَ وَإِنْ يَقُمْ لَهُمْ دِينُهُمْ يَقُمْ لَهُمْ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا " . قَالَ قُلْتُ أَمِمَّا بَقِيَ أَوْ مِمَّا مَضَى قَالَ " مِمَّا مَضَى " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ مَنْ قَالَ خِرَاشٍ فَقَدْ أَخْطَأَ .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: The mill of Islam will revolve for thirty-five, or thirty-six, or thirty-seven years. If they perish after that, they will have followed the path of those who perished (before them). And if their religion endures, it will endure for seventy years. I submitted: Does that mean from what remains or from what has passed? He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: From what has passed. Abu Dawud (upon him be mercy) said: Whoever pronounced the narrator's name as Khirash (with kha) erred; the correct name is Hirash (with ha).
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اسلام کی چکی پینتیس یا چھتیس یا سینتیس سال گردش میں رہے گی۔ اگر اس کے بعد وہ ہلاک ہوئے تو ان کی راہ انہی کی ہو گی جو ہلاک ہوئے، اور اگر ان کا دین قائم رہا تو ستر سال تک قائم رہے گا۔ میں نے عرض کیا: کیا اس بقیہ زمانے سے ہے یا گزشتہ زمانے سے؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: گزشتہ زمانے سے۔ حضرت ابوداؤد رحمۃ اللہ علیہ فرماتے ہیں: جس نے «خِراش» (خ سے) بولا اس نے غلطی کی، درست «حِراش» (ح سے) ہے۔
