Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، قَالَ كَتَبَ عُمَرُ إِلَى عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلاَّ مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا أُصْبُعَيْنِ وَثَلاَثَةً وَأَرْبَعَةً .
English Translation
Abu Ishaq (upon him be mercy) narrates: I asked Hadrat al-Bara ibn Azib (may Allah be well pleased with them both): Were you with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) at the conquest of Mecca? He said: Yes, but the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade us from wearing silk.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابو اسحاق رحمۃ اللہ علیہ فرماتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت براء بن عازب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے دریافت کیا: کیا آپ فتح مکہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا: ہاں، لیکن نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ہمیں ریشم سے منع فرمایا تھا۔
