حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ بِعْنَا أُمَّهَاتِ الأَوْلاَدِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ عُمَرُ نَهَانَا فَانْتَهَيْنَا .
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with them both) states: We used to sell the umm walad (a slave-woman who has borne a child to her master) during the time of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be well pleased with him). When the time of Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) came, he forbade us from doing so, and we ceased.
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم اور حضرت ابوبکر صدیق رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے عہد میں ام ولد (جس لونڈی سے بچہ پیدا ہو) کو بیچا کرتے تھے۔ پھر جب حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کا دور آیا تو انہوں نے ہمیں اس سے منع فرمایا اور ہم رک گئے۔
