Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ شِرْكًا لَهُ فِي مَمْلُوكٍ أُقِيمَ عَلَيْهِ قِيمَةَ الْعَدْلِ فَأَعْطَى شُرَكَاءَهُ حِصَصَهُمْ وَأُعْتِقَ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ وَإِلاَّ فَقَدْ عَتَقَ مِنْهُ مَا عَتَقَ " . .
English Translation
It is narrated from Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Whoever emancipates his share in a jointly-owned slave, a fair price for the slave shall be fixed. He shall pay his partners their shares, and the slave shall be emancipated on his behalf. If he does not have sufficient means, then the slave is emancipated only to the extent of the share already freed.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جس شخص نے مشترک غلام میں سے اپنا حصہ آزاد کر دیا تو اس غلام کی واجبی قیمت لگائی جائے اور وہ اپنے شریکوں کو ان کے حصے ادا کرے اور غلام اس کی طرف سے آزاد ہو جائے گا۔ اور اگر اس کے پاس (اتنا مال) نہ ہو تو جتنا (حصہ) آزاد ہوا اتنا ہی آزاد رہے گا۔
