حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ فُلاَنِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ، - قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ هُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ - عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَمَّنِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَصَلَّى بِيَ الظُّهْرَ حِينَ زَالَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَكَانَتْ قَدْرَ الشِّرَاكِ وَصَلَّى بِيَ الْعَصْرَ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَهُ وَصَلَّى بِيَ - يَعْنِي الْمَغْرِبَ - حِينَ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ وَصَلَّى بِيَ الْعِشَاءَ حِينَ غَابَ الشَّفَقُ وَصَلَّى بِيَ الْفَجْرَ حِينَ حَرُمَ الطَّعَامُ وَالشَّرَابُ عَلَى الصَّائِمِ فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْغَدُ صَلَّى بِيَ الظُّهْرَ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَهُ وَصَلَّى بِيَ الْعَصْرَ حِينَ كَانَ ظِلُّهُ مِثْلَيْهِ وَصَلَّى بِيَ الْمَغْرِبَ حِينَ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ وَصَلَّى بِيَ الْعِشَاءَ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ وَصَلَّى بِيَ الْفَجْرَ فَأَسْفَرَ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَىَّ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ هَذَا وَقْتُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَالْوَقْتُ مَا بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ الْوَقْتَيْنِ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Jibra'il (upon him be peace) led me in prayer twice at the House (the Sacred Ka'bah). He prayed the Zuhr with me when the sun passed the meridian to the extent of a sandal strap; then he prayed the Asr with me when the shadow of everything was equal to its height; then he prayed the Maghrib with me at the time when the fasting person breaks his fast; then he prayed the Isha with me when the twilight (shafaq) had disappeared; then he prayed the Fajr with me at the time when eating and drinking become unlawful for the fasting person. The next day, he prayed the Zuhr with me when the shadow of everything was equal to its height; then the Asr when the shadow of everything was twice its height; then the Maghrib at the same first time; then the Isha when a third of the night had passed; then the Fajr when there was a good spread of light. Then he turned to me and said: "O Muhammad! This is the time (of prayer) of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)s before you, and the time (of each prayer) lies between these two times."'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے بیت اللہ (خانۂ کعبہ) کے پاس دو مرتبہ میری امامت فرمائی۔ انہوں نے مجھے ظہر اس وقت پڑھائی جب سورج ڈھلا اور (سایہ) جوتے کے تسمے کے برابر ہوا، پھر مجھے عصر اس وقت پڑھائی جب ہر چیز کا سایہ اس کے مثل ہوا، پھر مجھے مغرب اس وقت پڑھائی جب روزہ دار افطار کرتا ہے، پھر مجھے عشاء اس وقت پڑھائی جب شفق غائب ہو گئی، پھر مجھے فجر اس وقت پڑھائی جب کھانا پینا روزہ دار پر حرام ہو جاتا ہے۔ پھر اگلے دن ظہر مجھے اس وقت پڑھائی جب ہر چیز کا سایہ اس کے مثل ہوا، اور عصر اس وقت پڑھائی جب ہر چیز کا سایہ اس کے دو گنا ہوا، اور مغرب پہلے ہی وقت پر پڑھائی، اور عشاء تہائی رات گزرنے پر پڑھائی، اور فجر خوب روشنی پھیل جانے پر پڑھائی۔ پھر میری طرف متوجہ ہو کر فرمایا: اے محمد! یہ آپ سے پہلے انبیاء کا وقت ہے، اور نماز کا وقت ان دونوں اوقات کے درمیان ہے۔
