Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَقَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَقَدِ اسْتَثْنَى " .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates from the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who stated: 'Whoever swears an oath and says "In sha Allah" (if Allah wills), then he has made an exception (and if he does not fulfil the oath, there is no expiation upon him).'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے مرفوعاً نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے روایت ہے کہ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: جس نے قسم کھائی اور ان شاء اللہ کہہ دیا تو اس نے استثناء کر لیا (یعنی اگر وہ قسم پوری نہ کرے تو اس پر کفارہ نہیں)۔
