Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا وَضَعَ الْمَيِّتَ فِي الْقَبْرِ قَالَ " بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " . هَذَا لَفْظُ مُسْلِمٍ .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated that when the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) placed the deceased in the grave, he would say: In the name of Allah, and upon the Sunnah of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). This is the wording of Muslim (ibn Ibrahim).
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب میت کو قبر میں رکھتے تو فرماتے: بسم اللہ وعلیٰ سنۃ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم (اللہ کے نام سے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے طریقے پر)۔ یہ الفاظ مسلم (بن ابراہیم) کے ہیں۔
