حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، - يَعْنِي الْقَعْنَبِيَّ - عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ، مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ عَلَى الْبَابِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " وَأَنَا أُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ فَأَغْتَسِلُ وَأَصُومُ " . فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ مِثْلَنَا قَدْ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ فَغَضِبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَالَ " وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَخْشَاكُمْ لِلَّهِ وَأَعْلَمَكُمْ بِمَا أَتَّبِعُ " .
English Translation
Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her) — the pure wife of the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — narrated that a man said to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), while standing at the door: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! I wake up in a state of major ritual impurity and I wish to fast. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "I too wake up in a state of janabah and wish to fast, so I perform the ritual bath and fast." The man submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! You are not like us; Allah has forgiven your past and future (apparent slips). The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) became displeased and stated: "By Allah! I hope that I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of what I follow."
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا (نبیِّ کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی زوجۂ مطہرہ) سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے رسولِ کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے دروازے پر کھڑے ہو کر عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! میں جنابت کی حالت میں صبح کرتا ہوں اور روزہ رکھنا چاہتا ہوں۔ رسولِ کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "میں بھی جنابت کی حالت میں صبح کرتا ہوں اور روزہ رکھنا چاہتا ہوں، تو غسل کرتا ہوں اور روزہ رکھتا ہوں۔" اس شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ ہماری مثل نہیں ہیں، اللہ نے آپ کے اگلے پچھلے (ظاہری لغزشوں کو) بخش دیا ہے۔ رسولِ کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ناراض ہوئے اور ارشاد فرمایا: "اللہ کی قسم! مجھے امید ہے کہ میں تم سب سے زیادہ اللہ سے ڈرنے والا اور اس کی پیروی کا سب سے زیادہ جاننے والا ہوں۔"
