حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَيْسٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ، - رضى الله عنها - تَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتَحَفَّظُ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ مَا لاَ يَتَحَفَّظُ مِنْ غَيْرِهِ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ لِرُؤْيَةِ رَمَضَانَ فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْهِ عَدَّ ثَلاَثِينَ يَوْمًا ثُمَّ صَامَ .
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah ibn Abi Qays narrated: I heard Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be well pleased with her) saying: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to be more careful about counting the days of Sha'ban than any other month. Then he would fast upon sighting the crescent of Ramadan, and if it was obscured by clouds, he would complete thirty days and then fast.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن ابی قیس بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: رسولِ کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم شعبان کے دنوں کا اتنا خیال رکھتے تھے جتنا کسی اور مہینے کا نہیں رکھتے تھے، پھر رمضان کا چاند دیکھ کر روزہ رکھتے، اور اگر بادل ہونے کی وجہ سے چاند نظر نہ آتا تو تیس دن پورے کر کے پھر روزہ رکھتے۔
