Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَمَّا يَقْتُلُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ فَقَالَ " خَمْسٌ لاَ جُنَاحَ فِي قَتْلِهِنَّ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُنَّ فِي الْحِلِّ وَالْحَرَمِ الْعَقْرَبُ وَالْفَأْرَةُ وَالْحِدَأَةُ وَالْغُرَابُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) said: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was asked about which creatures a pilgrim in ihram may kill. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) graciously replied: There are five creatures in the killing of which there is no sin, whether in the sacred territory or outside it: the scorpion, the mouse, the kite, the crow, and the biting dog.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے پوچھا گیا کہ محرم کون سے جانور مار سکتا ہے؟ حضور اقدس صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: پانچ جانور ایسے ہیں جنہیں حل اور حرم دونوں جگہوں میں مارنے میں کوئی گناہ نہیں: بچھو، چوہیا، چیل، کوّا اور کاٹنے والا کتا۔
