حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَهْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُلَىِّ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَنَحْنُ فِي الصُّفَّةِ فَقَالَ " أَيُّكُمْ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَغْدُوَ إِلَى بُطْحَانَ أَوِ الْعَقِيقِ فَيَأْخُذَ نَاقَتَيْنِ كَوْمَاوَيْنِ زَهْرَاوَيْنِ بِغَيْرِ إِثْمٍ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلاَ قَطْعِ رَحِمٍ " . قَالُوا كُلُّنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ " فَلأَنْ يَغْدُوَ أَحَدُكُمْ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَيَتَعَلَّمَ آيَتَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ نَاقَتَيْنِ وَإِنْ ثَلاَثٌ فَثَلاَثٌ مِثْلُ أَعْدَادِهِنَّ مِنَ الإِبِلِ " .
English Translation
Hadrat 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates: 'The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) came out to us while we were in the Suffah and said: "Which of you would like to go in the morning to Buthan or al-'Aqiq and bring back two large-humped, fine she-camels without any sin against Allah or severing of kinship?" They all said: All of us, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "For one of you to go to the mosque every morning and learn two verses from the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is better for him than two she-camels. And if three, then three — equal to their number in camels."'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عقبہ بن عامر جہنی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہمارے پاس تشریف لائے اور ہم صفّہ میں تھے — فرمایا: تم میں سے کون پسند کرتا ہے کہ صبح بطحان یا عقیق جائے اور بغیر کسی گناہ اور قطعِ رحمی کے دو بڑے بڑے کوہان والی روشن اونٹنیاں لے آئے؟ سب نے عرض کیا: ہم سب یا رسول اللہ! فرمایا: تم میں سے کوئی ہر روز صبح مسجد آئے اور کتاب اللہ عزوجل کی دو آیتیں سیکھے تو یہ اس کے لیے دو اونٹنیوں سے بہتر ہے — اگر تین سیکھے تو تین اور ان کی تعداد کے برابر اونٹ۔
