Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ شَهِدَ عِنْدِي رِجَالٌ مَرْضِيُّونَ فِيهِمْ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَأَرْضَاهُمْ عِنْدِي عُمَرُ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ " .
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates: 'Trustworthy men testified before me — among them Hadrat 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be well pleased with him), and the most beloved to me among them is 'Umar — that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no prayer after the dawn prayer until the sun rises, and no prayer after the 'Asr prayer until the sun sets."'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابنِ عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: میرے سامنے قابلِ اعتماد لوگوں نے گواہی دی — ان میں حضرت عمر بن خطاب (رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ) بھی تھے اور میرے نزدیک سب سے زیادہ پسندیدہ عمر ہی ہیں — کہ نبی اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: صبح کی نماز کے بعد سورج نکلنے تک کوئی نماز نہیں — اور عصر کی نماز کے بعد سورج غروب ہونے تک کوئی نماز نہیں۔
