Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9773 حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ بْنِ سَرْحٍ الْمِصْرِيَّانِ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أنا مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَخْبَرَهُ §أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ إِسْلَامِهِمْ وَبَيْنَ أَنْ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ يُعَاتِبُهُمُ اللهُ إِلَّا أَرْبَعُ سِنِينَ {وَلَا يَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَمَدُ} فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَكَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Yahya ibn Ayyub al-Allaf and Amr ibn Abi al-Tahir ibn Sarh al-Misriyyan narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Abi Maryam, from Musa ibn Ya'qub, from Abu Hazim, from Amir ibn Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, from his father that Abdullah ibn Mas'ud informed him that between their acceptance of Islam and the revelation of this verse in which Allah rebuked them, there were only four years: {And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened} [57:16], and many of them are defiantly disobedient.
