الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ali ibn Abd al-Aziz and Ishaq ibn Ibrahim narrated, from Abu Nu'aym and Abd al-Razzaq respectively, from Sufyan/al-Thawri and Isra'il, from Amir ibn Shaqiq, from Abu Wa'il Shaqiq ibn Salamah who said: Abdullah ibn Mas'ud bought a slave woman from a man for six hundred or nine hundred (dirhams). He searched for the seller for a year but could not find him. Then he took the price out to the marketplace and gave it in charity, dirham by dirham and two dirhams at a time, on behalf of her owner. 'If her owner comes, he will give him the choice: if he chooses the reward (of charity), it is his; and if he chooses his money, his money will be given to him.' Ibn Mas'ud said: 'This is what you should do with found property.' The wording is from the hadith of Abd al-Razzaq.
