Ibn Mas'ud said regarding a woman who is divorced and they believe her menstruation has stopped but this is not certain: 'She waits for a year. If she does not menstruate during it, she observes a waiting period of three months after the year. If she menstruates during the three months, she observes her waiting period by menstruation. If she menstruates but her menstruation does not complete after she has observed those three months after the year,' he said: 'Do not rush her until you know whether her menstruation has been completed or not.'
