Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8392 أَبُو نَضْرَةَ الْمُنْذِرُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ قَالَ أَتَيْنَا عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ لِنَعْرِضَ عَلَى مُصْحَفِهِ مُصْحَفًا لَنَا فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ أَمَرَنَا فَاغْتَسَلْنَا فَأَتَيْنَا الْمَسْجِدَ فَجَلَسْنَا إِلَى شَيْخٍ يُحَدِّثُ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ عُثْمَانُ تَحَوَّلْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ

Abu Nadrah said: We came to 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As on a Friday to compare our copy of the Quran with his. When the prayer time came, he ordered us to perform ghusl (ritual bath). We went to the mosque and sat by an elder who was narrating. When 'Uthman came, we moved to him, and 'Uthman spoke. [The text ends here, indicating an incomplete narration.]
