Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:8310a حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ هَانِئِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الصَّدَفِيِّ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ هَانِئٌ حَجَجْنَا فِي زَمَانِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ؓ فَجَلَسْتُ فِي مَجْلِسٍ فِي مَسْجِدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَأَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ فَصَلَّى إِلَى هَذَا الْعَمُودِ فَعَجِلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُتِمَّ صَلَاتَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ هَذَا لَوْ مَاتَ لَمَاتَ وَلَيْسَ هُوَ مِنَ الدِّينِ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُخَفِّفُ وَيُتِمُّهَا» فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ هَذَا الرَّجُلِ فَقِيلَ لِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hani' said: We performed Hajj during the time of Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), and I sat in a gathering in the mosque of the Prophet (peace be upon him). A man was narrating to them, saying: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) one day when a man came and prayed at this pillar, but he rushed and did not complete his prayer, then left. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'If this man had died, he would have died having nothing of the religion. Indeed, a man may make his prayer light while still completing it.' I asked about this man and was told: He is Uthman ibn Hunayf al-Ansari.
