Abu Umamah reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, 'The last man to enter Paradise will be one who rolls on the Sirat (Bridge), falling on his back and belly like a boy being beaten by his father while fleeing from him. His deeds will be insufficient to carry him. He will say: O Lord, deliver me to Paradise and save me from the Fire. Allah will reveal to him: My servant, if I save you from the Fire and admit you to Paradise, will you acknowledge your sins and mistakes? The servant will say: Yes, O Lord, by Your Might and Majesty, if You save me from the Fire, I will acknowledge my sins and mistakes to You. So he will cross the Bridge. The servant will say within himself: If I acknowledge my sins and mistakes to Him, He will send me back to the Fire. Then Allah will reveal to him: My servant, acknowledge your sins and mistakes to Me, and I will forgive them for you and admit you to Paradise. The servant will say: No, by Your Might, I never committed a sin or made a mistake. Allah will reveal to him: My servant, I have evidence against you. The servant will look right and left and see no one. He will say: O Lord, show me Your evidence. Allah will cause his skin to testify about the minor sins. When the servant sees that, he will say: O Lord, by Your Might, I have the major hidden sins! Allah, the Almighty, will reveal to him: My servant, I know them better than you. Acknowledge them to Me, and I will forgive them for you and admit you to Paradise. So the servant will acknowledge his sins and enter Paradise.' Then the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) laughed until his molars were visible and said, 'This is the lowest of the people of Paradise in rank. So what about those above him?'
