Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:4207 حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَيْسًا يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي دُكَيْنُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَرْبَعِمِئَةِ رَاكِبٍ نَسْأَلُهُ الطَّعَامَ فَقَالَ «يَا عُمَرُ اذْهَبْ فَأَطْعِمْهُمْ وأَعْطِهِمْ» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا عِنْدِي إِلَّا آصُعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ مَا يَقْتَاتُهُنَّ عِيَالِي فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ اسْمَعْ وَأَطِعْ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ سَمْعٌ وَطَاعَةٌ فَانْطَلَقَ عُمَرُ حَتَّى أَتَى عُلَيَّةَ فَأَخْرَجَ مِفْتَاحًا مِنْ حُجْزَتِهِ فَفَتَحَهَا فَقَالَ لِلْقَوْمِ ادْخُلُوا فَدَخَلُوا وَكُنْتُ آخِرَ الْقَوْمِ دُخُولًا فَأَخَّرْتُ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتُّ فَإِذَا مِثْلُ الْفَصِيلِ مِنَ التَّمْرِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Dukayn ibn Sa'id said: We came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) with four hundred riders asking him for food. He said: "O 'Umar, go and feed them and give to them." 'Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have nothing but a few sa's of dates — not enough to sustain my own family." Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Listen and obey." So 'Umar said: "I hear and I obey." 'Umar went until he came to an upper room, took out a key from his waistband, and opened it. He said to the people: "Enter." They entered, and I was the last to enter. I looked back, and there was a pile of dates like a young camel.
