Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:4195 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا مُسْتَلِمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَا خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ قَوْمِي قَبْلَ أَنْ نُسْلِمَ فَقُلْنَا إِنَّا لَنَسْتَحِي أَنْ يَشْهَدَ قَوْمُنَا مَشْهَدًا لَا نَشْهَدُهُ مَعَهُمْ فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَقَدْ أَسْلَمْتُمْ��» قُلْنَا لَا فَقَالَ «أَنَا لَا أَسْتَعِينُ بِالْمُشْرِكِينَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ» فَأَسْلَمْنَا وَشَهِدْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Khubayb said: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) — I and a man from my people — before we had accepted Islam. We said: "We would be ashamed if our people attend a battle that we do not attend with them." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Have you accepted Islam?" We said: "No." He said: "I do not seek the help of polytheists against polytheists." So we accepted Islam and participated with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
