Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3651 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الضُّحَى يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ خَبَّابٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ رَجُلًا قَيْنًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَكَانَ لِي عَلَى الْعَاصِ بْنِ وَائِلٍ دَرَاهِمُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ أَتَقَاضَاهُ لَا أَقْضِيكَ حَتَّى تَكْفُرَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَكْفُرُ بِمُحَمَّدٍ حَتَّى يُمِيتَكَ اللهُ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثَكَ فَقَالَ دَعْنِي حَتَّى أَمُوتَ ثُمَّ أُبْعَثَ فَيَصِيرَ لِي مَالٌ وَوَلَدٌ فَأَقْضِيَكَ قَالَ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Khabbab said: 'I was a blacksmith in the pre-Islamic era, and I had money owed to me by al-'As ibn Wa'il. I came to collect it, and he said: I will not pay you until you disbelieve in Muhammad. I said: I will not disbelieve in Muhammad until Allah causes you to die and then resurrects you. He said: Leave me until I die and am resurrected, then I will have wealth and children. So Allah revealed this verse: {Have you seen the one who disbelieved in Our signs and said: I will surely be given wealth and children?} to the end of the verse.'
