Khabbab said: 'I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) while he was lying under a tree with his hand under his head. I said: O Messenger of Allah, will you not supplicate to Allah against these people whom we fear may turn us away from our religion? He turned his face away from me. I moved to face him, but he turned his face away from me three times - each time I said this to him, he turned away. On the third time, he sat up and said: O people, fear Allah! By Allah, a man from the believers before you would have a saw placed on his head and be split in two, and would not renounce his religion. Fear Allah, for indeed Allah will open (victory) for you and provide for you.'
