Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3585 حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ قَالَ أنْشَدَ حَسَّانُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَمَرَّ بِهِ عُمَرُ ؓ فَلَحَظَهُ فَقَالَ أَفِي الْمَسْجِدِ؟ أَفِي الْمَسْجِدِ؟ فَقَالَ وَاللهِ لَقَدْ أَنْشَدْتُ فِيهِ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ فَخَشِيَ أَنْ يَرْمِيَهُ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَجَازَ وَتَرَكَهُ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn al-Musayyib said: 'Hassan recited poetry in the mosque and 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by and glared at him, so he said: In the mosque? In the mosque? Hassan said: By Allah, I used to recite in it before one who is better than you. He feared that he might invoke the name of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), so he let him be and left.'
