Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:3328 حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ أَبِي النَّجُودِ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الْبَكْرِيِّ قَالَ قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَبِلَالٌ قَائِمٌ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مُتَقَلِّدٌ السَّيْفَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَإِذَا رَايَاتٌ سُودٌ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذِهِ الرَّايَاتُ؟ قَالُوا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ قَدِمَ مِنْ غَزَاةٍ

Narrated al-Harith ibn Hassan al-Bakri: We came to Madinah, and there was the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on the pulpit, and Bilal was standing before him girded with a sword before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and there were black banners. I asked, 'What are these banners?' They said, 'Amr ibn al-As has returned from a military expedition.'
