الترجمة الإنجليزية
Abu Jahl accosted the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) at al-Safa and harassed him. Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) was a man of hunting. That day he was out on his hunt. When he returned, his wife — who had seen what Abu Jahl did to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) — said: "O Abu 'Umarah, if you had seen what Abu Jahl did to your nephew!" Hamzah was enraged and went straight — before even entering his house — with his bow hung around his neck. He entered the mosque and found Abu Jahl in one of the gatherings of Quraysh. Without speaking to him, he struck him on the head with his bow, splitting it open. Men of Quraysh rose to restrain Hamzah. Hamzah said: "My religion is the religion of Muhammad. I bear witness that he is the Messenger of Allah. By Allah, I will not turn back from this — so stop me if you can!" When Hamzah accepted Islam, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and the Muslims were strengthened by him, their affairs were partly established, and the Quraysh feared him, knowing that Hamzah would protect him.
