Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:2737 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ الْفَرَّاءُ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْحَاطِبِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ صَعِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمِنْبَرَ يَوْمَ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي وَاللهِ» مَا آمُرُكُمْ إِلَّا بِمَا أَمَرَكُمُ اللهُ بِهِ وَلَا أَنْهَاكُمْ إِلَّا عَمَّا نَهَاكُمُ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَطْلُبُهُ رِزْقُهُ كَمَا يَطْلُبُهُ أَجَلُهُ فَإِنْ تَعَسَّرَ عَلَيْكُمْ شَيْءٌ مِنْهُ فَاطْلُبُوهُ بِطَاعَةِ اللهِ ﷻ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ascended the pulpit on the day of the expedition to Tabuk. He praised Allah and lauded Him, then said: "O people, by Allah, I do not command you except with what Allah has commanded you, and I do not forbid you except from what Allah has forbidden you. Be moderate in seeking (your livelihood), for by the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Abu al-Qasim, one's provision seeks him out just as his death seeks him out. If something of it becomes difficult for you, seek it through obedience to Allah Most High."
