Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:2575 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ؓ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِرَأْسَيِ الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ ابْنَيْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِمَا فَحُلِقَ ثُمَّ تَصَدَّقَ بِوَزْنِهِ فِضَّةً وَلَمْ يَجِدْ ذِبْحًا»

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordered the heads of al-Hasan and al-Husayn, the sons of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, to be shaved on their seventh day. Then he gave in charity the weight of the hair in silver, but he did not find an animal for sacrifice."
