Ibn Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said on the Day of Badr while in his tent: 'O Allah, I beseech You by Your covenant and Your promise. O Allah, if You will, You will not be worshipped after today.' Abu Bakr took his hand and said: 'That is enough, O Messenger of Allah, you have been persistent in supplicating your Lord.' He was in his armor, and he came out saying: 'Their multitude will be routed, and they will turn their backs. Nay, the Hour is their appointed time, and the Hour is more calamitous and more bitter.'
