Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Whoever assists in falsehood to nullify truth through his falsehood has absolved himself of the protection of Allah and His Messenger. Whoever walks to the authority of Allah to humiliate it, Allah will humiliate him along with what He stores for him of disgrace on the Day of Resurrection. The authority of Allah is the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet. Whoever is entrusted with the affairs of the Muslims and appoints over them a man while he knows that among them is one more worthy and more knowledgeable of the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, he has betrayed Allah, His Messenger, and all the believers. Whoever neglects the needs of the people, Allah will not look into his needs until he fulfills their needs and gives them their rights. Whoever consumes a dirham of usury, it is equivalent to thirty-three acts of fornication. Whoever's flesh grows from unlawful earnings, the Fire is more deserving of him.'
