Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10818 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَرْسَلَنِي أَمِيرٌ مِنَ الْأُمَرَاءِ إِلِي ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ قَالَ مَنْ أَرْسَلَكَ؟ قُلْتُ فُلَانٌ قَالَ وَمَا مَنَعَهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَنِي فَيَسْأَلَنِي؟ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَوَاضِعًا مُتَضَرِّعًا مُبْتَذِلًا فَلَمْ يَخْطُبْ خُطْبَتَكُمْ هَذِهِ وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَمَا يُصَلِّي فِي الْعِيدِ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Abbas narrated: A governor sent me to Ibn Abbas to ask him about the rain prayer (istisqa'). He said: 'Who sent you?' I said: 'So-and-so.' He said: 'What prevented him from coming to me and asking himself?' Then he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went out in humility, supplication, and wearing ordinary clothes. He did not deliver a sermon like your sermons, and he prayed two rak'ahs as he prayed on Eid.'
