Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10750 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ثنا شُعَيْبٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَدِمَ مُسَيْلِمَةُ الْكَذَّابُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ إِنْ جَعَلَ لِي مُحَمَّدٌ الْأَمْرَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ تَبِعْتُهُ وَقَدِمَهَا فِي بَشَرٍ كَثِيرٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ وَفِي يَدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قِطْعَةُ جَرِيدٍ فَوَقَفَ عَلَى مُسَيْلِمَةَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ «لَوْ سَأَلْتَنِي هَذِهِ الْقِطْعَةَ مَا أَعْطَيْتُكَهَا وَلَنْ تَعْدُوَ أَمْرَ اللهِ فِيكَ وَلَئِنْ أَدْبَرْتَ لَيَعْقِرَنَّكَ اللهُ وَإِنِّي لَأُرَاكَ الَّذِي رَأَيْتُ فِيكَ وَهَذَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ يُجِيبُكَ عَنِّي» وَانْصَرَفَ
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Ibn Abbas narrated: Musaylimah the Liar came during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and began saying: 'If Muhammad gives me authority after him, I will follow him,' and he came with many of his people. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) went to him, and with him was Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas, and in the hand of the Messenger of Allah was a piece of palm frond. He stood over Musaylimah among his companions and said: 'If you were to ask me for this piece, I would not give it to you, and you will not escape the decree of Allah regarding you. If you turn away, Allah will surely hamstring you. I see that you are the one about whom I was shown (in a dream), and this is Thabit ibn Qays ibn Shammas who will answer you on my behalf.' Then he departed.
