Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10556 حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا سَيْفُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ الْأَسْوَارِيُّ ثنا مُبَارَكُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عُتَيٍّ السَّعْدِيِّ قَالَ عُتَيٌّ خَرَجْتُ فِي طَلَبِ الْعِلْمِ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ الْكُوفَةَ فَإِذَا بِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ بَيْنُ ظَهْرَانَيْ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ فَأُرْشِدْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ فِي مَسْجِدِ الْأَعْظَمِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنِّي جِئْتُ أَضْرِبُ إِلَيْكَ أَقْتَبِسُ مِنْكَ عِلْمًا لَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يَنْفَعَنَا بِهِ بَعْدَكَ فَقَالَ لِي مِمَّنِ الرَّجُلُ؟ فَقُلْتُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ فَقَالَ مِمَّنْ؟ قُلْتُ مِنْ هَذَا الْحَيِّ مِنْ بَنِي سَعْدٍ فَقَالَ لِي يَا سَعْدِيُّ لَأُحَدِّثَنَّ فِيكُمْ بِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ كَثِيرَةٌ أَمْوَالُهُمْ كَثِيرٌ شَوْكَتُهُمْ تُصِيبُ مِنْهُمْ مَالًا دَثِرًا أَوْ قَالَ كَثِيرًا فَقَالَ «مَنْ هُمْ؟» فَقَالَ هُمْ هَذَا الْحَيُّ مِنْ بَنِي سَعْدٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الرِّمَالِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «فَإِنَّ بَنِي سَعْدٍ عِنْدَ اللهِ ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ» سَلْ يَا سَعْدِيُّ فَقُلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ هَلْ لِلسَّاعَةِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ تُعْرَفُ بِهِ السَّاعَةُ؟ وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا فَاسْتَوَى جَالِسًا فَقَالَ يَا سَعْدِيُّ سَأَلْتَنِي عَمَّا سَأَلْتُ عَنْهُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلْ لِلسَّاعَةِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ تُعْرَفُ بِهِ السَّاعَةُ؟ فَقَالَ لِي «يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ لِلسَّاعَةِ أَعْلَامًا وَإِنَّ لِلسَّاعَةِ أَشْرَاطًا أَلَا وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يَكُونَ الْوَلَدُ غَيْظًا وَأَنْ يَكُونَ الْمَطَرُ قَيْظًا وَأَنْ تَفِيضَ الْأَشْرَارُ فَيْضًا يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يُصَدَّقَ الْكَاذِبُ وَأَنْ يُكَذَّبَ الصَّادِقُ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يُؤْتَمَنَ الْخَائِنُ وَأَنْ يُخَوَّنَ الْأَمِينُ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ تَوَاصَلَ الْأَطْبَاقُ وَأَنْ تَقَاطَعَ الْأَرْحَامُ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يَسُودَ كُلَّ قَبِيلَةٍ مُنَافِقُوهَا وَكُلَّ سُوقٍ فُجَّارُهَا يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ تُزَخْرَفَ الْمَسَاجِدُ وَأَنْ تُخَرَّبَ الْقُلُوبُ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يَكُونَ الْمُؤْمِنُ فِي الْقَبِيلَةِ أَذَلَّ مِنَ النَّقْدِ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يَكْتَفِيَ الرِّجَالُ بِالرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءُ بِالنِّسَاءِ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ تَكْثُفَ الْمَسَاجِدُ وَأَنْ تَعْلُوَ الْمَنَابِرُ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يُعْمَرَ خَرَابُ الدُّنْيَا وَيُخْرَبَ عُمْرَانُهَا يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ تَظْهَرَ الْمَعَازِفُ وَتُشْرَبَ الْخُمُورُ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا شُرْبَ الْخُمُورِ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا الشُّرَطُ وَالْغَمَّازُونَ وَاللَّمَّازُونَ يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْلَامِ السَّاعَةِ وَأَشْرَاطِهَا أَنْ يَكْثُرَ أَوْلَادُ الزِّنَى» قُلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ وَالْقُرْآنُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْهِمْ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» قُلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَأَنَّى ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ «يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يُطَلِّقُ الرَّجُلُ الْمَرْأَةَ ثُمَّ يَجْحَدُ طَلَاقَهَا فَيُقِيمُ عَلَى فَرْجِهَا فَهُمَا زَانِيَانِ مَا أَقَامَا»

'Utayy al-Sa'di said: "I went out seeking knowledge until I came to Kufa, and there was Abdullah ibn Mas'ud among the people of Kufa. I asked about him and was directed to him in the great mosque. I came to him and said: 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, I have come to you to acquire knowledge from you, hoping that Allah may benefit us through it after you.' He asked: 'Where are you from?' I said: 'From the people of Basra.' He said: 'From whom?' I said: 'From the tribe of Banu Sa'd.' He said: 'O Sa'di, I will narrate to you a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him): A man came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, shall I guide you to a people of great wealth and great power from whom you may gain abundant wealth?' He said: 'Who are they?' The man said: 'They are the tribe of Banu Sa'd, the people of the desert.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Banu Sa'd have a great fortune with Allah.' He then said: 'Ask, O Sa'di.' I said: 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, does the Hour have signs by which it can be known?' He sat up from reclining and said: 'O Sa'di, you have asked me what I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). I said: O Messenger of Allah, does the Hour have signs by which it can be known? He said: O Ibn Mas'ud, the Hour has signs and portents. Among its signs is that children will be a source of rage, rain will be scorching heat, and the wicked will overflow. O Ibn Mas'ud, among its signs is that the liar will be believed and the truthful will be disbelieved. Among its signs is that the treacherous will be trusted and the trustworthy will be distrusted. Among its signs is that strangers will bond while relatives will sever ties. Among its signs is that every tribe will be led by its hypocrites and every marketplace by its sinners. Among its signs is that mosques will be decorated while hearts will be ruined. Among its signs is that the believer in a tribe will be more humiliated than a sheep. Among its signs is that men will be satisfied with men and women with women. Among its signs is that mosques will be crowded and pulpits will be raised. Among its signs is that the ruins of the world will be developed and its civilization will be ruined. Among its signs is that musical instruments will appear and wine will be drunk. Among its signs is the drinking of wine. Among its signs is the police, slanderers, and backbiters. Among its signs is that children of fornication will increase.' I said: 'O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, while they are Muslims?' He said: 'Yes.' I said: 'While the Quran is among them?' He said: 'Yes.' I said: 'How can that be?' He said: 'A time will come upon people when a man will divorce his wife then deny the divorce, and he will continue to live with her in sin — and they are both in adultery as long as they live together.'"
