وعن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: كنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في سفر، فانطلق لحاجته، فرأينا حمرة معها فرخان، فأخذنا فرخيها، فجاءت الحمرة فجعلت تعرش فجاء النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: "من فجع هذه بولدها؟ ردوا ولدها إليها" ورأى قرية نمل قد حرقناها، فقال: "من حرق هذه؟" قلنا: نحن. قال: "إنه لا ينبغي أن يعذِّب بالنار إلا رب النار". قوله: قرية نمل معناه: موضع النمل مع النمل.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that we were with the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) in a journey when he drew apart (to relieve nature). In his absence, we saw a red bird which had two young ones with it. We caught them and the red mother bird came, beating the earth with its wings. In the meantime the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) returned and said, "Who has put this bird to distress on account of its young? Return them to her." He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) also noticed a mound of ants which we had burnt up. He asked, "Who has set fire to this?" We replied: "We have done so." He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "None can chastise with fire except the Rubb of the fire.".
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فرماتے ہیں: ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں تھے۔ آپ اپنی حاجت کے لیے تشریف لے گئے تو ہم نے ایک سرخ چڑیا دیکھی جس کے دو بچے تھے۔ ہم نے اس کے بچے پکڑ لیے تو چڑیا آئی اور پروں سے زمین پیٹنے لگی۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم تشریف لائے تو ارشاد فرمایا: کس نے اس کے بچوں سے اسے بے چین کیا؟ اس کے بچے واپس کرو! اور آپ نے چیونٹیوں کی ایک بستی دیکھی جسے ہم نے جلا دیا تھا تو ارشاد فرمایا: اسے کس نے جلایا؟ ہم نے عرض کیا: ہم نے۔ ارشاد فرمایا: آگ سے عذاب دینا صرف آگ کے رب (اللہ) کو زیبا ہے۔ (رواہ ابو داؤد بإسناد صحیح)
