وعنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "يستجاب لأحدكم ما لم يعجل: يقول: قد دعوت ربي، فلم يستجب لي" ((متفق عليه)). وفي رواية لمسلم لا يزال يستجاب للعبد ما لم يدعُ بإثم أو قطيعة رحم ما لم يستعجل. قيل يا رسول الله ما الاستعجال؟ قال يقول قد دعوت وقد دعوت فلم أرَ من يستجب لي فيستحسر عند ذلك ويدع الدعاء.
الترجمة الإنجليزية
Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) reported that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), "The supplication of every one of you will be granted if he does not get impatient and say (for example): 'I supplicated my Rubb but my prayer has not been granted'.".The narration of Muslim is: "The supplication of a slave continues to be granted as long as he does not supplicate for a sinful thing or for something that would cut off the ties of kinship and he does not grow impatient." It was said: "O Beloved Messenger of Allah! What does growing impatient mean?" He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said, "It is one's saying: 'I supplicated again and again but I do not think that my prayer will be answered.' Then he becomes frustrated (in such circumstances) and gives up supplication altogether."
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: تم میں سے ہر ایک کی دعا قبول ہوتی ہے جب تک وہ جلد بازی نہ کرے اور کہے: میں نے اپنے رب سے دعا کی مگر قبول نہیں ہوئی۔ (متفق علیہ)۔ مسلم کی ایک روایت میں ہے: بندے کی دعا قبول ہوتی رہتی ہے جب تک وہ گناہ یا قطع رحمی کی دعا نہ کرے اور جلد بازی نہ کرے۔ پوچھا گیا: یا رسول اللہ! جلد بازی کیا ہے؟ ارشاد فرمایا: یہ کہے کہ میں نے دعا کی اور دعا کی لیکن قبول ہوتی نظر نہیں آتی، تو مایوس ہو کر دعا چھوڑ دے۔
