قَالَ وَفِيمَا قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا حُصَيْنٌ، وَمُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ صِيَامُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا وَيُفْطِرُ يَوْمًا " .
الترجمة الإنجليزية
It is narrated that Hadrat 'Abdullah bin 'Amr (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: "The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "The best of fasting is the fast of Dawud (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He used to fast for one day and break his fast for one day."' 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted
الترجمة الأردية
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ”روزوں میں سب سے افضل داود علیہ السلام کے روزے ہیں، وہ ایک دن روزہ رکھتے، اور ایک دن افطار کرتے“۔
