Salim narrates from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: "It is not proper for a Muslim who has something worthy of being bequeathed to let three nights pass without having his will written and kept with him." Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Since I heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), not a single night has passed over me but that my will is with me." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 981]
الترجمة الأردية
سالم، سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہانہوں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنا آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ کسی مسلمان کو، جس کے پاس وصیت کرنے کے قابل کوئی چیز ہو، لائق نہیں کہ وہ تین راتیں گزارے مگر اس کی وصیت اس کے پاس لکھی ہوئی ہونا چاہئے۔ سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ میں نے جب سے یہ حدیث رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے سنی ہے مجھ پر ایک رات بھی ایسی نہیں گزری کہ میرے پاس میری وصیت نہ ہو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 981]
