Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin A'ishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): She said: Through Barirah three matters became known. First, that she was given the choice concerning her husband when she was freed. Second, that she received (charity) meat. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to me while meat was on the fire in the pot. He (peace be upon him) asked for food, and bread and some household side-dish were brought before him. He (peace be upon him) said: "Was there not meat on the fire in the pot?" The people said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! But that meat was charity given to Barirah, and we felt it improper to feed you from it. So he (peace be upon him) said: "It was charity for her, and from her it is a gift for us." Third, that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said concerning Barirah: "The wala' belongs only to the one who frees." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 897]
الترجمة الأردية
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہانہوں نے کہا کہ بریرہ کی وجہ سے تین باتیں معلوم ہوئیں۔ ایک تو یہ کہ اس کو اپنے خاوند کے مقدمہ میں اختیار ملا، جب وہ آزاد ہوئی۔ دوسری یہ کہ اس کو (صدقہ کا) گوشت ملا۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلممیرے پاس آئے اور ہنڈیا میں گوشت آگ پر چڑھا ہوا تھا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کھانا مانگا تو روٹی اور گھر کا کچھ سالن سامنے لایا گیا، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ چولہے پر ہنڈیا میں گوشت نہیں چڑھا رکھا تھا؟ لوگوں نے کہا کہ بیشک یا رسول اللہ! مگر وہ گوشت صدقہ کا تھا جو بریرہ کو ملا تھا اور ہمیں برا معلوم ہوا کہ اس میں سے آپ کو کھلا دیں، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ وہ اس کے لئے صدقہ تھا اور اس کی طرف سے ہمارے لئے ہدیہ ہے۔ تیسری یہ کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے بریرہ کے بارے میں فرمایا کہ ولاء اسی کو ملے گی جو آزاد کرے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 897]
