Narrated Abdullah ibn Hunayn from Abdullah ibn Abbas and al-Miswar ibn Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with them): The two of them disputed at (the place of) Abwa (over the question of whether a muhrim may wash his head). Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that a muhrim may wash his head, while al-Miswar (may Allah be pleased with him) said no (he may not). So Abdullah ibn Hunayn said: Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) sent me to Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask this, and I found him bathing between the two wooden posts of a well, screened by a cloth. I greeted him, and he asked, "Who is it?" I said, "I am Abdullah ibn Hunayn, and Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) has sent me to you to ask how the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to wash his head while in ihram." So Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) placed both his hands on the cloth and lowered it a little until his head became visible to me. And he ordered the man who was pouring water on his head to pour, so he poured water on his (Abu Ayyub's) head. Then he moved his head and rubbed it with his hands, forward and backward. Then he said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) washing (his head) just like this."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن حنین نے سیدنا عبداللہ بن عباس اور مسور بن مخرمہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی کہان دونوں میں (مقام) ابواء میں تکرار ہوئی۔ (اس بات میں کہ) سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ محرم سر دھو سکتا ہے اور سیدنا مسور رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ نہیں (دھو سکتا) چنانچہ عبداللہ بن حنین نے کہا کہ مجھے سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے سیدنا ابوایوب رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس یہ پوچھنے کیلئے بھیجا تو میں نے ان کو پایا کہ وہ کنوئیں کی دو لکڑیوں کے بیچ میں نہا رہے تھے اور وہ ایک کپڑے کی آڑ میں تھے۔ میں نے ان کو سلام کیا تو انہوں نے پوچھا کہ کون ہے؟ میں نے کہا کہ میں عبداللہ بن حنین ہوں اور مجھے عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما نے تمہاری طرف یہ پوچھنے کے لئے بھیجا ہے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماحرام میں سر کیسے دھوتے تھے۔ پس سیدنا ابوایوب رضی اللہ عنہ نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ کپڑے پر رکھے اور اسے تھوڑا سا جھکا دیا یہاں تک کہ مجھے ان کا سر نظر آنے لگا۔ اور اس آدمی سے، جو ان کے سر پر پانی ڈال رہا تھا، پانی ڈالنے کا حکم دیا تو اس نے آپ (کے سر) پر پانی ڈالا۔ پھر وہ اپنے سر کو ہلاتے تھے اور اپنے ہاتھ سے آگے اور پیچھے ملتے تھے۔ پھر کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو ایسے ہی (سر دھوتے) دیکھا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 687]
