Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): We were on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him); some of us were fasting and some were not fasting. In severe heat we halted at a stage. The one among us with the most shade was he who had a cloak, and some of us were shielding themselves from the sun with their hands. Those who were fasting fell down (exhausted) upon reaching the stage, while those who were not fasting stood up and pitched the tents and gave the camels water to drink. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Those who broke the fast today have carried off much reward."

سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ سفر میں تھے ہم میں سے کوئی روزہ دار تھا اور کوئی بےروزہ دار۔ سخت گرمی کے وقت ایک منزل میں اترے۔ اور ہم میں سے سب سے زیادہ سائے میں وہ تھا جس کے پاس چادر تھی اور کتنے تو ایسے تھے کہ ہاتھ ہی سے دھوپ روکے ہوئے تھے۔ روزہ دار جتنے تھے، سب منزل پر جا کر پڑ رہے اور جن لوگوں کا روزہ نہیں تھا انہوں نے کھڑے ہو کر خیمے لگائے اور اونٹوں کو پانی پلایا تو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ افطار کرنے والے آج بہت سا ثواب لے گئے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 600]
