Narrated Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), from the Prophet (peace be upon him): He (peace be upon him) said: "We are an unlettered people; we neither write nor calculate. The month is thus, and thus, and thus" — and the third time he folded in his thumb — "and the month is thus, and thus, and thus," meaning it is thirty complete days.
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: ہم لوگ امی (ان پڑھ) ہیں، نہ لکھتے ہیں نہ حساب کرتے ہیں۔ مہینہ تو ایسا ہوتا ہے، ایسا ہوتا ہے، ایسا ہوتا ہے۔ اور تیسری بار انگوٹھا بند کر لیا اور مہینہ ایسا ہوتا ہے، ایسا ہوتا ہے، ایسا ہوتا ہے۔ یعنی تیس دن پورے ہوتے ہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 576]
