Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, which charity is the best and greatest in reward? He (peace be upon him) said: "That you give charity while you are healthy and holding tightly to wealth, fearing poverty and hoping for riches; and that you do not delay giving charity until, when the soul reaches the throat (that is, the gullet), you say: This is for so-and-so, give this wealth to so-and-so — while by then it already belongs to so-and-so (that is, as soon as you die the heirs will take it)."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس ایک شخص آیا اور عرض کیا کہ اے اللہ کے رسولصلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! افضل اور ثواب میں بڑا صدقہ کون سا ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تو صدقہ دے اور تو تندرست اور حریص ہو، محتاجی کا خوف کرتا ہو اور امیری کی امید رکھتا ہو۔ اور تو یہاں تک صدقہ دینے میں دیر نہ کرے کہ جب جان (حلق یعنی) گلے میں آ جائے تو کہنے لگے کہ یہ فلاں کا ہے، یہ مال فلاں کو دو اور وہ تو خود اب فلاں کا ہو چکا (یعنی تیرے مرتے ہی وارث لوگ لے لیں گے)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 538]
