Narrated 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "O company of women! Give charity and seek forgiveness, for I have seen that women are the majority of the inhabitants of Hell." An intelligent woman said: O Messenger of Allah, what is the reason that women are the majority in Hell? He (peace be upon him) said: "They curse much and are ungrateful to their husbands. I have not seen any who are more deficient in intelligence and religion, and more able to rob a sensible man of his reason, than you." The woman said: What is the deficiency in our intelligence and religion? He (peace be upon him) said: "The deficiency in intelligence is shown by the fact that the testimony of two women equals the testimony of one man; and the deficiency in religion is that a woman for several days (each month, because of menstruation) does not pray, and in Ramadan (during the days of menstruation) does not fast."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اے عورتوں کی جماعت! تم صدقہ دو اور استغفار کرو، کیونکہ میں نے دیکھا کہ جہنم میں زیادہ تعداد میں عورتیں ہیں۔ ایک عقلمند عورت بولی کہ یا رسول اللہ! کیا سبب ہے، عورتیں کیوں زیادہ جہنم میں ہیں؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ وہ لعنت بہت کرتی ہیں اور خاوند کی ناشکری کرتی ہیں۔ میں نے عقل اور دین میں کم اور عقلمند کو بے عقل کرنے والی تم سے زیادہ کسی کو نہ دیکھا۔ وہ عورت بولی کہ ہماری عقل اور دین میں کیا کمی ہے؟ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ عقل کی کمی تو اس سے معلوم ہوتی ہے کہ دو عورتوں کی گواہی ایک مرد کی گواہی کے برابر ہے۔ اور دین میں کمی یہ ہے کہ عورت کئی دن تک (ہر مہینے میں حیض کی وجہ سے) نماز نہیں پڑھتی اور رمضان میں (حیض کے دنوں میں) روزے نہیں رکھتی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 524]
