It is narrated from Amrah bint Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Mother of the Believers Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) (when it was mentioned in her presence that Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the dead is punished due to the weeping of the living over him). So the Mother of the Believers Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: May Allah forgive Abu Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him); he did not speak a lie, but an error occurred. The truth is that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) passed by a Jewish woman over whom people were weeping, so he said: These weep over her while she is being punished in her grave. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 465]
الترجمة الأردية
سیدہ عمرہ بنت عبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہانہوں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے سنا (اور ان کے سامنے اس بات کا ذکر ہوا کہ سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ مردے پر زندہ کے رونے سے عذاب ہوتا ہے تو) ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ اللہ ابوعبدالرحمن رضی اللہ عنہ کو بخشے، انہوں نے جھوٹ نہیں کہا مگر بھول ہو گئی۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمایک یہودی عورت پر گزرے کہ لوگ اس پر رو رہے تھے، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ تو اس پر روتے ہیں اور اس کو قبر میں عذاب ہو رہا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 465]
