Narrated Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) used to pray with the Prophet (peace be upon him), then come to his people and lead them in prayer. One night he prayed the Isha prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), then came and led his people and began Surah al-Baqarah. A man turned away, gave the salam, prayed alone, and left. The people said, "Have you become a hypocrite?" He said, "By Allah, I am not a hypocrite; I will go to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and tell him." Then he came to him (peace be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! We are people who own camels (we draw water with the camels all day long), and Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) came after praying the Isha prayer with you (peace be upon him) and began Surah al-Baqarah." Hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) turned to Muadh (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Muadh! Are you a troublemaker? (making people recite this and that surah so as to make them averse and stirring up strife). Recite such-and-such surah." Sufyan said, I said to Amr, "Abu al-Zubair narrated from Jabir that he (peace be upon him) said, 'Recite Wash-shamsi wa duhaha, Wad-duha, Wal-laili idha yaghsha, Sabbihisma Rabbikal-Ala.'" Amr said, "Recite surahs like these."
الترجمة الأردية
سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہسیدنا معاذ بن جبل رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ نماز پڑھتے پھر اپنی قوم میں آ کر ان کی امامت کرتے۔ وہ ایک رات کو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ عشاء کی نماز پڑھ کر آئے پھر اپنی قوم کی امامت کی اور سورۃ البقرہ شروع کر دی۔ ایک شخص نے منہ موڑ کر سلام پھیر دیا اور اکیلے نماز پڑھ کر چلا گیا۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ کیا تو منافق ہو گیا ہے؟۔ وہ بولا کہ اللہ کی قسم میں منافق نہیں ہوں، میں رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس جاؤں گا اور آپ سے کہوں گا۔ پھر وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہم اونٹوں والے ہیں (دن بھر اونٹوں سے پانی نکالتے ہیں) اور سیدنا معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ عشاء کی نماز پڑھ کر آئے اور سورۃ البقرہ شروع کر دی۔ یہ سن کر رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسیدنا معاذ رضی اللہ عنہ کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا کہ اے معاذ! کیا تو فسادی ہے؟ (جو لوگوں کو یہ یہ سورت پڑھا کر نفرت دلانا چاہتا ہے اور فتنہ کھڑا کرتا ہے)۔ فلاں فلاں سورت پڑھو۔ سفیان نے کہا کہ میں نے عمرو سے کہا کہ ابوزبیر نے سیدنا جابر سے بیان کیا کہ آپ نے فرمایا کہ والشمس وضحٰہا، والضّحٰی، واللّیل اذا یغشٰی، سبّح اسم ربّک الاعلیٰ پڑھا کر۔ عمرو نے کہا کہ ان جیسی سورتیں پڑھا کر۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 289]
